Pumpkin Painting
Not really sure when painting pumpkins became an activity for children as opposed to carving pumpkins. I never even heard of painting pumpkins until a couple of years ago I noticed a bunch of painted pumpkins at the grocery store that they used as props in displays of fruits and vegetables.
Today we had a party for a group of children living with disabilities and we thought it would be fun to let each child work on a pumpkin. Of course, carving them would have been too time consuming for the adults and too dangerous for the small children, so we bought a about 60 small pumpkins, a bunch of water soluble paints and cheap paint brushes and let the kids paint their pumpkins.

It was great fun for all and although the finished results were no where near as professional as the ones I remember seeing in the grocery store, some of them were well designed and at the very least were very colorful!
